Laser Engraving Module
Universal laser module for engraving
Turn your CNC machine into a laser engraving machine, and mark a range of soft materials including leather, wood, laser ply, and slate.
When purchased for one of our machines, you get a plug and play system with CAD/CAM/control software included and tested. If you want to use it with other machines, make sure your CNC control features PWM (Pulse Width Modulation).
This module was designed for hobby users and small batch production. If you need a laser for high volume output, please contact us for advice.
The laser diode is rated for 3 watts, but to ensure maximum durability, we control it with 2.2 watts. It also has an oversized aluminum heat sink for the same reason.
Safety
The laser module itself is delivered in a protective case to eliminate damage during shipping and moving.
Safety glasses are always included, and the unit is connected via a separate on/off box that includes a key switch.
The recommended software, which we provide with each machine purchase, is ConstruCAM and WinPCNC USB.
Given the higher speeds needed for this unit, we always recommend the High-Z Turbo or the T-Rex series.
